This past Monday (9-25), Rush Limbaugh – the Patron Saint of the Republican Party – illustrated one of the basic philosophical differences between Republicans and Democrats. Rush insisted that we just have to accept the fact that some people are inherently better than others.

Mr. Limbaugh went on to demonize "Liberals" for insisting that all people are worthy of respect purely based on the fact that they are human. He said that people must earn levels of respect based on what they’ve earned in life.

By Mr. Limbaugh’s reasoning then, the value of ones humanity should be based on the size of their bank account and/or their power base.

I, though, in my naive sort of Christian/Liberal "delusion" believe that the child who survives intact a poverty stricken, violent, drug infested neighborhood, to become an adult who manages to hold on to their faith and retain their integrity in spite of big-mouthed white men like Rush Limbaugh or privileged hypocritical mental midgets like George W., deserves much more respect than those who inherit their station as did the nobility of old and the intellectually unqualified oil tycoons and talk show hosts of today.

For conservative Republicans to tout such ugly postures while claiming to be Christian-based is patently offensive.
