Re: HR 952, the Torture Outsourcing Prevention Act
Dear Representative Capito,
It is unimaginable to me that there would even be a question as to whether or not to support the Torture Outsourcing Prevention Act. If we, as a nation, participate in or condone torture by ourselves or others, we are no better than the terrorists by whom we are so threatened.
In fact, we are worse, because we claim to be a nation of higher purpose, higher calling, and higher understanding. We claim to be the good guys. If we are hypocrites regarding the torture of any human beings, we might as well admit that we are no better than any of the dictatorial regimes we condemn.
“Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me." We cannot torture other human beings and still claim to be Christian.
I beg you to support HR952 and help to put an end to this cloud of shame over our nation.
